I have a new c813 Kodak and I want to hack, err, add some features but got a stone cold *NO* from Kodak. I don't know about the flash backup and write software since they have never to my knowledge issued an update. If anybody knows anything about this it would be a help to Kodak users that have come up short on features. It could be just another generic Chinese camera with a Kodak name on it. I think the internal electronics are pretty much the same, just changed where the name goes in.

I have a C813, third refurb from the factory in 6 months. Their software flat out stinks and I got the same stone cold "NO" from them. What really pisses me off is that I bought 4 Kodak cameras for gifts to my daughters and grandchildren and they all say they are crappy cameras.
A C813 may have 8MPixels but the focus drops dead at about 2MP so why even try. I want to change the focus to be accurate and make some of the features stick, like timed, 2 shot exposures, which has to be programmed before every set of 2 shots. I use it with a telescope on a tripod and need the 20 second delay to the second shot for the scope to stop jiggling.
Needless to say, Kodak has now given themselves the kiss of death with this junk. If anyone has a way to work around Kodak's arrogance/screw the customer attitude please post it.

to get into c813 service menu:
menu >> setup >> about
(while holding down the delete button)
After this initial activation,
will always bring up the service menu.
Enable RAW Mode on Kodak C613

You can use RAW2BMP to convert from RAW mode.
