I heard that kodak C613 had a hidden menu.
Menu - setup menu - about -
hold "delete" button and "right" button, enter the hidden menu.
total info: CS=shutter count, CF=flash count, cp=power on/off count, and many else.
YRGB set to "on" can activate RAW mode.

C713 has a similar option for YRGB.

use something like dcraw to read the .raw files since it isn't officially supported by Photoshop.

So has anyone actually found a program that works to open these hidden raw files?!?! I've tried DCraw, adobe, a few others but no joy... Its like the codec that doesn't exist anywhere! Anyone found a prog that works?!?

Yanno, by the time someone out there finds a codec that will work, it will be time to just buy a new camera anyway...

yea I set up my c613 for raw and photoshop opened the image in black and white. It had others that were distorted beyond recognition. Also, the camera does not recognize the RAW shots after you take them. It is really weird, I honestly dont even understand why kodak created this function.

It works also with Kodak EasyShare C743. Tested! I didn't found a software to convert these RAW files but I'm sure it is easy to write a simple converter. Try linux command: convert -size 3072x2304 yuv:input.raw output.png. I will produce damaged picture but you will be sure there is something inside! Thanks. I am going to create a simple commandline converter.

I've done it! Here you can download RAW2BMP converter tested with my Kodak C743. You need [ubuntu] linux with libsdl and libsdl-image. Difference between BMP made from RAW and JPG encoded by hardware is almost invisible. Try it yourself. DOWNLOAD HERE: http://www.2shared.com/file/Cp3pXIkS/raw2bmp_conwerter_for_l . . .
The file is also attached here. Please unzip before use.

Thanks for sharing this converter, George. I'm sure it will be very handy for Kodak users.
I noticed that it is a Linux binary executable. Is it for 32-bit or 64-bit machines? 2.6 kernel?
You might consider open souring the project so that people can compile it for various platforms.

You are missing a very important piece of information.. Do exactly what this guy at the very top said, but before doing so, Make sure you create a blank folder called "Hidden Menu" if that doesn't work after trying "About - Delete + right arrow" then get rid of the space between hidden and menu. You can access important things like Aperture size, iso, shutter speed (depends) and most importantly, activate your RAW image capability

it would be nice if kodak would release a firmware editor so people could program timelapse, raw, manual aperture and exposure times, video bitrate adjustment. I mean honestly what does kodak have to loose at this point?

Oh and btw if you hold delete and menu when booting up the C613 you can freeze it. Unfreeze by removing the batteries. Totally useless, your welcome!

Title: C713 has RAW in hidden mode
Weblog: Camera Hacker
Excerpt: I tried the C613 RAW (YRGB) hack on my C713-and it works on that model too. I found Photoshop was unable to read the created .raw files though.
