Samsung SPH M500 - software?

IS there a way to download photos off my Samsung M500 to my computer using a USB cord? I have tried to download software to help with this from BitPim but they don't have this model listed. I have no problem using the PictBridge function to go right to my printer, but I would like to be able to transfer the photos to my computer for storage/emailing without having to use Sprint (i.e. to email them to myself, etc.) I don't want to pay for an additional internet service; I already have Sprint Broadband aircard service on another line... Basically I just wanted this phone to be a phone, and then decided I liked the quality of the photos I was able to take, but now I feel like I am trapped into either going the PictBridge/scanner route or the emailing to myself with Internet route...when all I want to do is just use the USB cord and put the pics onto my computer but the computer doesn't recognize the phone...I am quite digitally slow, so please bear with me and speak slowly...lol. I guess another option is to take the Scandisk thingy into a CVS or Walgreens or whatever and have the photos put on a disk...Any ideas? Many thanks.

This thin, light clamshell CDMA phone packs nearly all of the features of the A900 into a slightly smaller form factor, while adding stereo Bluetooth and a memory card slot, all with a lower price tag. Other key features include EV-DO high-speed data, a megapixel camera, internal antenna, and music player. - Phone Scoop

Based on the above description, your phone should be very similar to the A900M. Take a look at How-To Download Photos and Videos from the Samsung A900M Camera Phone to see if it solves your problem (let us know). See if you can enable the "Mass Storage" option. By the way, are you using Windows XP? It will automatically recognize a mass storage device.

I also noticed that your phone supports microSD/TransFlash. And 32 MB card is included with your phone. You can put the photos on the card and then put the card into your computer through a SD Card adapter and a memory card reader.

there's a much easier way... connect your phone to your computer with the data cable

ON THE PHONE go to:
MENU
TOOLS
(1)MASS STORAGE
(1)Connect to PC

Then you can download anything that you save on your phone or memory card.

OR you can just take the memory card out of your phone and use the SD adapter if you have a card reader

Plug your cell phone with the USB cable at your PC
1- Menu
2- Tolls
3- (1) Masse storage
4- (1) Connect to PC

That's it.

being a typical male, I tried to figure everything out about this phone without the instructions, sooooo I put the SD card in the phone without formatting it, now it says that there is a lock on it to format it. I'm wondering how to get the card out/format it /get it to work....?!

Thanks Matt V. Your instructions worked for my Samsung SPH-M500 and I was able to move the pics onto the memory card in my camera and then directly to my PC. Thanks again.

I went into tools/mass storage/connect to pc,,,
The phone displays "Please connect usb cable"
The device is not recognized and therefore does not appear in 'my computer'
I am using windows 7, is there a patch?
Can anyone help with this?

I've done all the steps. Plugged in the usb, tools, mass storage, connect to PC. All that happens is my phone says "no memory card detected"
