Video8 and Hi8 tapes playable on DCR-TRV250?

Mi trv 250 does not play Hi8 casettes back. Is it a failure or normal?

It's normal. The DCR-TRV250 does not support the playback of Video8 and Hi8 format. It can only playback Digital8. You'll have to step up to a DCR-TRV350 to playback Video8 and Hi8.
