Hi I have the dcrpc5e and it has a damaged audio out socket so I wondered if I can get audio and video out to a computer via the DV out socket instead and if so what lead would I need

Yes, you can transfer both the video and the audio to your computer through the DV port. All you need is a Firewire cable. See the Digital Video articles to help you along the process.
