Great information! I had two fail right out the box. As suggested, I took them apart to find the pins bent. I straightened them and they work fine now. Sony has a design problem with these adapters as the connector pins are sprung too high on some product. With full insertion of the memory stick the pins are bent back. Also the directions don't show how far the memory stick should be inserted so for the first time user, when a pin is preventing the full insertion, the user would have no idea of the problem.
