Canon Autofocus lens control

Can the autofocus mechanism used without any lens? The camera is used to take pictures from a microscope. There is only an adaptor connected to the lens mount and the contacts are unused. Is it possible to make the camera believe it is connected to an autofocus lens and generate some usable signal to use for the actual focusing (motor moving the object)?
