Samsung camera firmware hack/mod- possible?

Is it possible to modify/hack a Samsung pocket camera firmware?

The reason for my question is simple: when I turn mine on, there's a zoom error. The lens does not move. The problem for me is that the error message stays on the screen and prevents me for accessing the camera functions.

I want a way to make the camera skip/ignore/jump over the lens assembly error altogether.

Does anybody know anything like that?
