Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ7 - Bang It on the Floor to Make It Work

I got this Lumix LZ7 at a thrift store for 79 cents. It had the turn off/on error message. I figured for 79 cents it would be worth trying to see if I could fix it. I found this site, snd others that suggested banging it.
I tried other solutions first, blowing the barrel out with canned air, twisting, pulling, pushing. I finally resorted to banging it. I banged it gently on the desk, at first. Then harder and harder each time.
I figured it was trash so I would bang it until it worked or got smashed.
I banged it on the tile floor so hard I thought it might crack the body. It was turned on and the hard hit made it shut itself off. I turned it on and it WORKS !!
I wouldn't suggest this for a camera that is still under warranty, but if all else fails,
IT ACTUALLY WORKS !!!!!!!
