Panasonic G1 Still in Japanese After Flashing European Firmware

I've just bought the Panasonic G1, and updated the firmware with the european one, but the OSD language is still in japanese. Which makes me think that the firmware is global and with a little hack it must be possible to change the language. I would appreciate if someone knows any software to edit the firmware ... the camera is still usable but it's still annoying.

Thanks.
