need a driver for nexxtech 2516513

I have the same problem as Kevin. I installed the driver on computer, the camera still wont work, my computer knows its there but wont recognize it. My model number is 2516513

Yes this sucks, I have webcam 2516513 and there is no option on the orbyx webstite for that model, i have chosen the drivers for model 2516509 and will try that.. darn installation cd is USELESS.

I emailed the support address at Orbyx (manufacturer for Nexxtech) and they provided me with this link for my 2516513. I downloaded and installed and it's working perfectly.

nexxtech's website sucks the big one. no drivers listed for the 2516513 model, but they sell it..........nice.

Please add the 2516513 driver to your website and stop the insanity!!! crazy.

If they gave you the new link to the 2516513 driver, would you please share it with us? :o)

NexxTech 2516513 Driver Summary

Saved it on my hard drive, then I followed the instructions that pure_apna@hotmail.com put (above):

Make sure you have your cam plugged into the USB port..
after you've dont that...Click Start>>right-click My
Computer>>Properties>>Hardware>>Device Manager>>
under unknown device right-click on your USB-Cam
device and hit Update driver >>click "no not this
time and hit next>>"install from a specific location
(advanced)" and hit next>>"dont search, i will chose
the driver" and hit next>>click Hard disk>>hit browse>>now
browse to what ever location you extracted that "drivers"
folder to, that was in the winrar file...>>in the drivers
folder you should see a file that says "USBCIF">>
highlight it and hit OPEN

They weren't exact instructions for my computer but close enough that someone with half a brain could figure it out (which, on second thought, may exclude most of the people that post on here...)

Nexxtech webcam drivers are all listed here:

Except your model isn't listed. The page mentioned that you should e-mail them if you can't find the driver for your model. There is a support e-mail on that page.

people i have e-mailed the orbytech support ppl and they finally sent me the file jus follow this and hopefully itll work...first click this link then press unzip then a file is going to show up in c:/ file called orby something then click the model number then setup (PLUG IN UR WEBCAM BEFORE SETUP) and sorry but this is only for model number 2516513>>if u have n e questions e-mail me :)

I downloaded the file for 2516513 and ran the setup.exe but when I attach the webcam to the computer, it sees it as a new device and wants me to show it where the driver is located. Does anyone know where it is located? Usually, it is under \windows\system32\drivers but I don't see any new files created there after running the setup.exe.

Has anyone gotten the webcam 2516513 to work on Windows XP?

In regard to the joys of installing the nexxtech webcam 2516513.

If you call Orbyx Electronics Support's toll free number: 866.363.3059 they will email you an invitation to go to web-a-file.com and download it from there.

I've attached the file I downloaded, although I wouldn't blame you if you decided not to risk opening it.

Don't bother writing to support@orbyxelectronics, it doesn't go through.

The very helpful young man at Orbyx is hoping the driver will be posted on their site soon, but I gather that's a hope rather than a plan and they will not email you the zip file directly. They have a very small support group there, so patience might be required.

I am running the camera on XP and, after a few games with some of my other USB interface drivers, it's working, even on skype. Time will tell if it continues to work, but after all the messing about yesterday trying to install drivers that weren't on the disc, I'll take what I can get.

For anyone out there that has the Nexxtech 2516513 webcam working on Windows XP, can you go into the Device Manager, right-click on the webcam and tell me the driver location. I would assume it's under \windows\system32\drivers but I'd like to know what the specific file is. My OS recognizes the webcam when I plug it in to my computer but it can't find the driver files for it even after I ran the setup.exe that Orbyx gave me.
