Iconcepts 49152-DM Driver

There are at least 5 of us doing every type of search we can on iconcepts, SAKAR, iconcepts model 49152 mini webcam, you name it we've searched it. Our friend still cannot get the disk that came with her cam to load. She is not running vista so that is not it. We can find no information at all other than the fact that there is a model 49152 webcam. Where in the world can we go to get drivers for this cam? Does anyone know? If so any information would be appreciated. I myself think it would have been better to spend a few bucks more and bought a Logitech. LOL!

I just got off the telephone with a real nice guy over at SAKAR. I went to their web page and found a different telephone number in order to speak to someone concerning drivers, etc. on this camera. The person I spoke with was very concerned about Page #9 referring to a 'toggle switch' . I am supposed to receive a link in the next 30 minutes that will provide drivers for Windows XP.

The number I called was:

1.800.637.1090

ask to Speak to someone concerning Web Cam For Dummies:

Hope this helps

I am attaching a link for the 49152-DM Windows XP drivers. This was sent to me by the person I had spoken to earlier. He also sent me an eMail telling me that he would look into the problems associated with this device.

"You can download the driver for your camera by clicking on the link below":

I am missing the original software that came with " Web Cam for Dummies " this is the reason I needed the drivers to begin with. Can anyone send me a copy of the original software that came in the box? I'll pay for the postage,
Let me know at:

[email protected]

Thanks,

Brought 2 of these on a recent visit to the states for my kids, no joy in getting them to work, have uninstalled and re installed to no avail, I have the orginal disc drivers but this just loads the software but not the drivers by the looks of it, have tried the link offered by Rudy (above) but this is the same as the software on the disc.
Anyone with any other suggestions?

I guess they were on clearance for a reason...

I've tried everything to get these things to work with no success...of any kind. I've followed the instructions to the letter and still nothing. It's obviously not plug and play, the drivers on the disk do nothing. Perhaps this product was made only for Dell computers made in August, 2003 with Intel chipsets and silver case screws...it's the only thing I can think of. I've tried manually setting up the device with no success. I just downloaded the drivers someone posted earlier on this thread and they seem to be the same drivers included on the disk. I think we've all been had. Return this product asap and buy something else! Do it now! For the love of god do it now! Don't waste your precious time on this inferior product! I beg you! We are all doomed.

STOP THE PRESSES!

Alright...frustrated as hell at this thing I cracked it open with a very large and heavy bowie knife. (I bought it clearance and lost the receipt...might as well have fun, no?) I plugged it in and began shorting out the circuit board with a piece of metal and VOILA! the sucker was instantly recognized by windows and began to function. SO! If it collecting dust because they won't let you return it...pop the bottom screw out, pull the circuit board and start touching metal bits with a screwdriver until windows recognizes it. The drawback of course is that the stand is broken...but there's always duct tape. :) It just crappy construction! The drivers are fine!

I tried several times to reinstall driver and simply change USB socket. It works now, so try to go to Device manager and try to find it there. If you see it- you have it.
Reboot machine after reinstallation. Try several times.
Eventually I got picture. but it's blury. You can't see anything. What now? Any suggestions?

I haev boughten the same cam and when I installed it on Vista the first time it failed. So I uninstalled and reinstalled again and it worked fine. After a few days it quit working my computer does not recognize it and I've tried downloading drivers but was also unsuccessful. I've tried using different ports and still to no prevail...boy I am a dummy. I noticed I have more problems with Vista. It's very frustrating.

Hello,

I'd like to first thank everyone for trying out the Webcam for Dummies. I was alerted to this website by one of our customers and was hoping I could address some of the questions that I see on this page regarding our webcam.

Many of you have noticed that on page nine of the camera's manual there is a reference to a toggle switch on the camera. This is actually an error in the manual which we only caught after the product was released to stores. We have since corrected the manual, and the new version is offered on our website and can be downloaded by going to the web address below:

49152 DM WebCam Owner's Manual

Another issue discussed has been this camera's compatibility with the Windows Vista operating system. This camera originally hit stores before the initial release of the Windows Vista operating system, and thus unless specifically listed, the camera will not work with Vista. However, the new cameras that we are currently sending to stores do include Vista compatibility. Additionally, we are working on a driver that will allow all versions of this camera to be used with Vista. Within the next few weeks that driver will be posted on our web site, and I will post a link here too.

I will be checking this website periodically and will do my best to answer as many questions as possible. If anyone would like to e-mail me questions directly, feel free to e-mail me at [email protected]. I will do my best to answer any questions as quickly as possible.

Also, we do apologize for any delays and long hold times you might have had on our toll free technical support phone number (877 397 8200). However, we are excited to say that we will be offering 24/7 phone service with a larger staff of technicians on digital cameras starting immediately.

Once again, I'd like to thank everyone here for their patience and courtesy.

I have also recently bought one of these wonderfull cams lol hahaha , anyways .... the first time i used it worked flawlessly , then a few months later i formatted and the Install CD stopped reading in my drive , all my other cds read fine , theres no scratches or any smudges or anything wrong with the cd , my only idea is the medium the install program was recorded to is crap , i used a link above and i`m about to try it right now (brb) And it worked heres what i did ...

(1) Installed the Driver & Apps pack from http://downloads.sakarhelp.com/49152.exe ....Ran it

(2) Inserted Cam inot USB port

(3) told windows to look in C:/webcam driver pack

(4) Started Amcap.exe in the start menu under USB PC Camera

(5) Under Options on tab at the top of Amcap Check (Preview)

Wallawalla bing bang the cam works , adjusted focus and advanced settings under Video Capture Filter and it works fine for a cheap ass camera

I bought one of these to use with my new Vista machine.

After numerous unsuccessful attempts at installing it I found this site looking for help in getting it to work. I felt encouraged after reading Garrett Glick’s post “Another issue discussed has been this camera's compatibility with the Windows Vista operating system. This camera originally hit stores before the initial release of the Windows Vista operating system, and thus unless specifically listed, the camera will not work with Vista. However, the new cameras that we are currently sending to stores do include Vista compatibility. That post was dated Fri, 27 Apr 2007 13:50:01 –0700, still no driver update. Has anyone found a way to get the camera to work with Vista?

I just finished downloading the latest version of the camera driver from Sakar's site. It claims "
49152 - "Dummies" Web Cam (98se, ME, 2000, XP and VISTA compatible)" I've provided a link to it here. Let's hope this works.

This is a stupid webcam and it causes a usb interface issue. I you just install the driver and thers a connection problem double check your device mananger find the yello explanation point disable then renable then update the driver specifie the directory and bam it should work. but as we all know nothin with windows ever goes the way it should, save your self time and hassle just buy a logitech or some other brand

Uh, yeah, I should have checked this forum before buying this piece of crap. I tried to install this thing like 15 times now. I did everything the manual said, sometimes the little red light on top of the camera came on, sometimes it didn't. I never got anything showing in the device manager that the installation of the drivers or the device took. Include me in the class action lawsuit, will you?

Bought two for $10 each from Radio Shock, but when I'm installing the driver, it says that the InstallScript engine is too old, and I should upgrade to the latest version. I've installed version 11 of InstallShield (all components), as well as 9, and another version of 9... (The install file lists version 9.0.333).

No go, still says the same thing, except now it crashes with an application exception right after denying me...

I've called two different toll free numbers, and have succeeded to getting routed to the worst possible elevator music you could imagine. You could break terrorists with this stuff. I've sent email, both on the online form at www.sakar.com, as well as directly emailing [email protected] (supposed to be tech service there).

NO RESPONSES. NO SUPPORT. DOESN'T INSTALL. PIECE OF CRAP. GET A N Y T H I N G ELSE!!!

So, after reading all these, this is how i got mine to work:

Get the right drivers:
http://downloads.sakarhelp.com/49152.exe

Short circuit the chip:
Hit it lightly against a hard surface.

Voila, it works. Occasionally you have to flick it again, but it makes it work.

I had the same problem as members here have.
I was completely at a loss but finally
Denis and Colin's idea was right.
I bought USB hub and insert webcam's
connecter into it. It worked properly.

49152 DM driver does not have problem. But
maybe the connecter has problem.
If you claim your webcam does not work,
what you have to do is to try USB hub!!
AVOID CONNECTING WEBCAM INTO YOUR COMPUTER DIRECTLY.
