Sony Handycam DCR-HC20 Software Won't Work with USB on Windows 7

HELP! I have the old SONY HANDYCAM DCR-HC20 & need to get all of my video from the mini tapes to my labtop to edit & burn to DVDs. Problem is when I loaded the original software that came with the camcorder, it says that the USB doesn't work with my version of Windows (Windows 7). Any advice???

I had the same problem. I bought a firewire expansion card for my laptop from Best Buy ($40), made sure the USB streaming was off on the camera and downloaded Windows Live Movie Maker (from Microsoft's Windows Live site) and it worked. I don't really like the editing features on Movie Maker, but I was able to import the video.
