Possible Solutions for Error Code C:31:10

I have a Sony DCR-TRV900E, i first had error c:31:10 after putting a (sony)tape in the cam. The only thing i found on the web was a discription of the error and a movie on youtube of a guy fixing an error(he repaired the plastic in the rubber roller like said here also somewhere, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUIN-ygjN_g&feature=related ).

Then i found this link on google. The cam is to old to let it repaired so why not give it a try and smack it. If worked for a lot of people here. After my first hit on the tape side I got an other error. Which is good that ment it was working. So hit it again nothing, again and then i got another error ect... I think I had in total 8 different errors. While doing that turned out the cam a few times.

And finally got i WORKING AGAIN.

I tried the "smacking" thingy (3 times) and I blew into the "carriage" a few times (5 to be exact) and smacked it again 3 times and, lo and behold, to my surprise - IT WORKED!!! Then, I remembered how I had dropped my camcorder a few months ago, and, hadn't been able to get it to work since, so, I had put it away for awhile. I finally picked it back up a few minutes ago, went online to search for a possible solution to my problem and found the "smacking," and thankfully, it worked!!! I have a camcorder, AGAIN!!! YAY!!!
