camera brand with sdk??

Dear Folks!!

I need to perform an automatic image adquisition system. The idea is configuring, shutting and transferring the image files from the camera to my PC. I am exploring the camera brand but I do not know which of the has an avaible sdk (free or not). My request is if anyone could provide a list of digital camera manufacturer which has a sdk.

Thank you in advanced.

Don't know what you really want to do. But maybe you don't need a SDK at all. Canon EOS digital SLR cameras comes with RemoteCapture. It's a software that does pretty much what you just asked for. If that is insufficient, Canon also provides the SDK for the Canon EOS DSLR cameras for free, after you signed up.

Dear Chieh Cheng,

I was asking for the SDK because the pictures' capture is going to be done automatically from multiple cameras and nobody is going to be managing the computer. Besides, the number of captures will be huge, so the images will be stored into the computer hard disk, no into the camera card. I have found SDK's for high range models of nikon, canon and olympus:

1) Nikon has an url (https://sdk.nikonimaging.com/apply/) where apears the existing sdk. I don't know if it has developed some for the Coolpix range.
2) Canon has an url (http://www.didp.canon-europa.com/) where you can obtain the sdk. This forum says that the last compact camera supported is the PowerShot SX110IS.
3) Olympus has an url (http://developer.olympus.com/cameras_25.html). In that url doesn't appears the best compact models.

Do you know some addtional brand which an avaible SDK? For example Panasonic or Kodak. Besides, in the case of Olypus, do you know if the lastest models (SP-565 uz, SP-570 uz, SP-590 uz and EP - 1) is going to be included in some SDK?

Thank you in advanced,

Regards.

Title: Image auto download to computer
Weblog: Camera Hacker
Excerpt: I bought your book today and skimmed through looking for a particular solution. After a camera is triggered I need the image to automatically download to a computer. I am capable to do programming and build electronics. I thought of making an adapter between the camera memory card slot connector and . . .
