Canon Digital Camera Software Developers Kit Update Information

Effective May 1, 2006, general distribution of Canon EOS Digital Camera Software Development Kit (EDSDK) Version 1.1 for Windows 2000/XP and Mac OS X (10.4 and later) will begin for registered developers residing in our sales area. This new SDK supports EOS Digital SLRs with DIGIC II processors exclusively. The list of supported models includes: EOS 30D, EOS 20D/20Da, EOS 5D, EOS 350D/Digital Rebel XT, EOS-1D Mark II N, EOS-1D Mark II and EOS-1Ds Mark II.

EDSDK 1.1 is not compatible with early EOS Digital SLRs including the EOS D30, D60, 1D, 1Ds, 10D and 300D/Digital Rebel. Please continue to use RC-SDK 8.4 for those models. For more information, be sure to read the EDSDK API Programming Reference bundled with the EDSDK download.

Even though you are a registered developer, it is still necessary to submit a new SDK application in order to confirm your acceptance of the SDK License Agreement for EDSDK 1.1. To submit a new SDK application, please visit our website at:
