Sony Ericsson's Little Brother is watching you...
Sony Ericsson unveils the Bluetooth controlled Motion Cam ROB-1 digital camera at CeBIT. The mobile ROB-1 can move around freely, steered wirelessly by the joy-stick or keypad on your mobile phone, enabling you to see on the phone screen exactly what ROB-1 is looking at. You can then capture these images using your phone just as you would a normal photo. It looks like Sony Ericsson's Little Brother is going to watch you...

This camera phone controlled remote camera robot is really cool! I think we will be seeing a lot of these cute remote tiny robots in the near future.

My girlfriend and I just picked up one of the MicroPets this weekend from PETCO. The one we got is a little mouse, called Nacho, holding a Swiss cheese wedge. It sings and walks and does different things based on your voice commands. The MicroPets even interact with each other. We bought it so that we can place it in our hamster cages and interact with our dwarf hamsters.

It's neat to finally see miniature entertainments robots, on the market, that are fun and functional.

Does it allow any bluetooth enabled device like an Apple Powerbook to control it?

Thanks!

While we are talking about robots on the market . . . ZMP, Inc. in Japan has announced that they will be releasing a 15-inch, 5.5 lbs man-shaped robot for home security and entertainment. The robot is called NUVO and will cost 588,000 Yen, or about $5,450 US dollars. Its capabilities includes walking, getting up, respond to voice commands, sing, and dance. Like Sony's ROB-1, the NUVO can be linked to mobile camera phones so that you can see pictures of your homes taken on a digital camera inside the robot's head.
