adapt MR 14EX Macro flash to Tamron 18-200 MM Canon 30D

I just bought a Tamron 18-200 MM Di II lens for my Canon 30D. Would like to use my Canon MR 14EX on this lens. Only way I can see to do it is to add a 62MM to 72MM step up ring than add the canon macrolite 72C F/ML-3 adapter to the ring. Any thoughts from anyone? Thanks
