Nikon SpeedLight on Canon flash hot shoe

Hi,
Lenses aside, I have an old Nikon Speedlight (SB-27) flash. Would like to find out if that'll fit onto the hot shoe of say, the Canon 350D (aka Kiss)

thank you for your thoughts

I wrote to Nikon and got this answer:

---

For the speedlight SB-27, there would not be i-TTL with the D70s. Only Manual settings.

---

too bad it's not full functional compatibility.

I use Nikon SB-16 on Canon 20D. It's works only in manual and non-TTL auto. The voltage on Nikon's SB-16 contacts approx 4V. So, it's not dangerous for Canon's electronics inside camera. (IMHO new Nikon's flashes have same voltage)
