Wiring remote shutter jack to Nikon Coolpix 8400?

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone here has wired a remote shutter release jack to a Nikon Coolpix 8400. I was wondering how it went and what type of space is available for such a hack on this camera. Is it possible to connect an existing commercial remote shutter release to a jack or would a project box need to be created?
