Sony DSC-W1 video output questions

Hi there,
I'm wondering if anyone knows whether the video output on a Sony Cybershot DSC-W1 provides a real-time output. I have adapted my W1 to fit a microscope and would like to add a USB video input to my laptop to view images in real time. I know this is a very simple test of hooking the video cable to the input of a TV to see if it is active, but I do not own (or want) or have access to a TV(!!) I would like to confirm that my plans will work before spending $$ on video capture hardware.

Thanks!
Jay
