Camera menu not responding

I have a DCS-P72 and this is the problem: It turns OK, but when I click to "set up" the camera will not let me scroll up or down. It seems to be frozen. When I turn it off and click it up to the "image" or image storage, all i get is the "date/time". I see it on the screen, but can't make any changes because the round button that lets you scroll up or down and make changes....nothing happens... no matter what button I push. The date/time reverted to 2003 too. It seems to be frozen up. I have used the reset button too. Nothing happens. I can take images, but I cannot delete them or change the image making profile. Confusing! I have to hook the thing up to my CP to delete the images and clear the photo file. Can't do it via the camera. Can't make any changes or adjustments. I really like this camera.
