Sigma SD1 Digital Camera

Sigma introduced a new digital SLR (Single Lens Reflex) camera called Sigma SD1 digital camera. The dimension of the camera is 146 x 113 x 80 mm (5.7 x 4.4 x 3.1 in). It features a 3.0 inch TFT color LCD display having 460,000 pixels resolution. It incorporates 46 Megapixels of APS-C X3 direct image sensor of size 24 x 16 mm. This direct image sensor captures all the primary RGB colors at every pixel and ensures the capture of full and complete color.

Sigma SD1 includes a dual TRUE (Three layer Responsive Ultimate Engine) II image processor engine which helps to improve the processing speed and overall quality of the image. The image processor provides high definition images of excellent resolution power with rich tones. Sigma SD1 reproduces accurate color and sharp resolution for each pixel than any conventional image sensor. It bears 15.4 million of effective pixels of resolution. The wide angle viewing is possible with this monitor which makes easy to check focusing and composition.

The body of the camera is made up of magnesium alloy which withstands rough use and shocks in difficult conditions. The O-ring sealing acts as a weather resistant design in harsh conditions. It prevents dust and water entering into the camera body. In the front panel of the camera, it has a Sigma SA bayonet lens mount. The depth of field preview is also available as a dedicated button. It comprises a pentaprism viewfinder having 98 % coverage and 0.95x magnification.

The autofocus system of this camera contains 11 point twin cross sensor. This sensor is used to increase AF accuracy. The maximum resolution of the camera is 4800 x 3200 pixels. This camera can be used with over 40 Sigma lenses such as fisheye, ultra wide and macro which contains the latest technology such as aspherical lenses, FLD and SLD glass. The new Sigma SD1 digital camera have nice features and meets the various demands of all type of photographers and turned out as a typical digital camera.
