Canon PowerShot SD940 IS

I received my Canon Powershot SD940 IS as a gift for my birthday a few months ago. In my opinion this is the best point and shoot ultra compact camera available on the market. It's very lightweight, and small enough to put in your pocket or purse. But I would recommend putting the camera in a case to be sure not to scratch the screen. It has a large 2.7-inch LCD screen which makes it very easy to see your subject on the screen. It also has a 4x zoom. I've taken the best photos with this camera. They have a professional look to them, and I am far from a professional. I haven't had any out of focus or blurry pictures with this camera. All of the photos are sharp.

I am a bit technically challenged, yet I've found that this camera is very user friendly and comfortable to use. Don't let the light weight feel of this camera fool you it has a sturdy build. The controls are flush to the camera and very easy to use. They are large enough that I don't get many mispresses. This camera is also comfortable for people with larger hands. My boyfriend uses my camera as much as I do and he loves it. The menu and help system are very helpful and easy to understand. If you're unsure of the use of a function select that particular function and it will explain its use to you on the screen. You can easily which from function to function with the flip of a switch. There are many settings to choose from including portrait, and indoors, and less common functions like color accent. The best function is the AUTO setting because it takes all of the guesswork out of taking great photos. The SD940 IS also has a great HD video function.

I did quite a bit of research on which digital camera I would like before I received mine and I believe this camera is the best in it's class. It gives you high quality photos and is easy to use if you aren't tech savvy. If you're looking for a great camera that takes great photos, but don't want to pay a huge price the Canon Powershot SD940 IS is the perfect choice. It's compact and easy to use and the photos are amazing. I can't think of anything negative to say about this camera. I wouldn't change a thing about it if I could.
