555 Circuit Error?

Hello. I was reading through the sample chapter of your Hacking Digital Cameras book, and I think the circuit diagram for the delay circuit on page 24 is incorrect? The schematic of the 555 in monostable mode on this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/555_timer_IC shows pins 6 and 7 tied together. Please let me know if that is not the case.

Thank you for contacting me. Unfortunately, I am traveling out of the country now. As soon as I settle back down at home, I will take a look at the circuit diagrams.

If you'd like to move forward before I get back, I think it won't hurt experimenting a little bit. It is unlikely to burn out the 555 timer in that manner. And it's only a buck or two at Radio Shack if you do burn it out some how. I usually keep several on hand in case my circuit doesn't work and I want to see if the 555 is defective.

Good luck.
