Thread
Hi everyone. New to posting here.
Hello all. Just came back on the site after a long period of down time. I have never posted here before and it says I should say hello, so here goes. Not sure if I'm doing it right but I'm sure someone will let me know. I live in Kingman, Az. and have been "messing" around with all the image programs for a few years. I started out with Photo Shop 5 I think it was than got version 7 and used that for everthing. Now I have CS3 Extended with all the plug-ins I could find. (really expensive)...:-) I'm interested in mainly Photo Restorations and Colorizing B&W. Oh, and I'm 2 months from being 68 yrs old, am married and been with the same woman for 42 years. This time I'll be more active. I forgot I was even registered here...;-)
Field of Yellow
we have these lovely weeds that grow each year in our fields. we used to call them wild mustard, but we found out that was wrong. so, now i'm not sure what they're called. at any rate, these grow wild and exist before the fields get planted with corn or soybeans. this year they were even more plentiful than normal due to some heavy rains and late planting. i kept driving past them and finally drove back and got some shots. this one i'm posting was a test of sorts of the panarama feature of my camera. i was quite surprised how well it came out. you shoot the first shot, then the camera processes that one and puts a thumbnail of it up in viewscreen and you line that up to take the next one and then one does the same thing so that you can line up the third and final shot. the camera then does the stiching all by itself. it came out pretty seamless. i was impressed. anyways, feel free to use it here on RP.
First Try at this... Need suggestions. Watercolor
Hi, my friend just had a baby and I wanted to create a painting effect on one of the picture she has taken of her two little ones. Here are the original and my first stab: http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j206/jpatsy/lucjp.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j206/jpatsy/lucjp1try.jpg And here is where I got the tutorial so you can see what I did: http://www.photoshopessentials.com/photo-effects/watercolor-painting/ I actually like it pretty well, I really wasn't expecting greatness from my first try... but my problem is the area of her older son's lower are. All along the bottom edge, it's as if the darkness "bled" into his arm. Does anyone have any suggestions or better ways to go about this? Keep in mind, I'm not an artist... I just follow directions well. :) Thanks!

Hi, I'm new!
Hi everyone! My name is Becca, I'm almost a college sophomore studying Digital Arts with a concentration on web development. My real passion is retouching, however. My dad's a professional photographer, so I grew up around photography and learning what "looks" good (can't take pictures very well myself, though :P). I've been using Photoshop since I was probably 12 or 13...so I've had 6 or 7 years of experience. I'm from Cleveland, OH. So yes, I'm a Browns fan, yes I'm a cav's fan, YES I'm an Indians fan........but NO. I am not a Buckeyes fan at all, I love my Wolverines ;) I'm excited to learn from some masters of the trade, and hopefully figure out some career options for my future!

Virus / Spyware in plugins or actions
Hi: I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place, but since the previous "Virus" thread was posted here, I thought it was best not to change. In the original thread, Gary warned us not to download stuff from unknown or dangerous sites. However, I'm wondering if it is safe to download Photoshop plugins & actions from unknown sites? Can those files like .8bf, .8bx contain keyloggers, trojans, etc.? Thanks

Irises always were object of artists. Here you are.
Accessing Gradiant Editor
I’m attempting to use the Basic Duotone Setup tool in PE4 for Mac. Having created the Gradiant Map layers I get a panel which reads: ‘Set up is complete. Open the Gradiant Map layers by double-clicking them in the Layers palette and adjust the Color Stop positions to make adjustments to your duotone.’ So I assume that when I double-click either of the Gradiant Map layers the Gradiant Editor should launch. However all I get when I do this is a panel giving the name of the layer. How do I access the Gradiant Editor please? Tony
Retouching workflow
Another question from me... I was wondering what is your workflow when retouching. What do you do first, what at the and. How do you organize your layers in photoshop, which layers are in the bottom which ones on the top, do you use groups, etc... Also, when you are using clone stamp or healing brush (for strain hair, bigger imperfections,...) do you use an empty layer and heal there with "sample from all layers" option on, or do you merge all layers on top and correct there? Or maybe completely different method? I would be really happy if some of you pros would give a few tips, hints, directions about this. Thanks a lot!!!
