The Firewire driver is built-in to Windows XP. The USB driver is here: USBDRVEN.EXE

XP has built-in Firewire driver. You don't need to install anything yourself.

Are you sure it's Firewire to USB cable? I haven't seen such a beast. I have seen a Firewire to USB adapter before. But it's close to $200. Is that what you got? Or did you just get a cable?

DV will produce the highest quality video. But to transfer DV, you will need a firewire cable and a firewire port on your computer.
