burn video from Sony DCR-TRV250 directly to DVD

I have the Sony DCR-TRV 250 and I wonder if anyone has tried to burn dirctly to DVD.

Adobe Premiere 2.0 does not recognize the camera so I'm forced to use the Sony ImageMixer software that came with the camera. However, the SW does not recognize the two DVD drives on my computer. When I try to set the destination, I get errors. It works fine if I set the destination to my HD.

I cannot burn directly to a CD or DVD -- has anyone tried to do this? I have a zillion hours of tape -- downloading to my HD eats up so much memory and in doing that to turn around and burn to DVD/CD eats up so much time.

Help ....anyone?

Diana,
I am attempting to do the same thing. Can you burn from your hard drive to DVD? I am still researching and will let you know if I am successful.
