Remote control

I´have a Sony Handycam DCRPC109E. I Bought this camera to record helmet camera videos from a bullet camera connected to the AV/in. To record from this bullet cam, I must move the "Power" button to the "Play/Edit"position and use the record control from the screen.

But when I try to use the Sony remote control, it records directly into the Memory Stick, not into the DV cassette.

I need to use the remote control because I must record videos from my MTB, and I need optimize the cassette duration, stopping and recording again.
