I found Panasonic TM700 is exact same hardware as the new 3d tm750 or HDC-SDT750 (US model) but added a 3d lens. To prove, I ordered a 3d lens VW-CLT1 from Japan. To my surprise, the lens had a 2 knots to lock into 750, but 700 series don't have the slots. But that couln't intimidate me, I dismantle the lens, which is total mechanical, and get rid of the knots. when i hooked up the TM700, the major issue comes: at the normal non-zoom position, the 3d lens show very small scene window in the view finder, you have to zoom to about 12X to open up the dual windows, that makes 2 problems, first, it can't focus, this can't be done by manual focus, the major problem is after zoom, the picture become total unstable, which even under supported position.
Now I think it might be my lens is defective, but I dismantled it, unless they reverse install the lens, it looks normal, but the unzoomed position the 3D lens show only a 5mm square foot print on view finder is unbeliable, may be they use soft/firmware to park the magor lens in 750 to certain position, then I need a hack to upgrade the firmware to 750 series, anyone can do this?

Interested in learning more. They also updated the HD Writer software with the 3D version of the camcorder. Did you notice anything different (besides 3D options, of course)
