Can't Read Memory Card with Optex Card Reader on Windows 98

Hope you can help me with my problem ...My computer is windows 98..... I received a new camera (cannon power shot A470) it says it was not compatiable with my computer , so i purchased an Optex card reader (OSDRDR), The clerk told me just plug it in the usb port , put your memory card in and you will be able to download your photos , everything hooked up great , but the photos would not come up on my computer , What am I doing wrong
any tips would be appricated

Was the driver installed properly? I remember that Windows 98 will not recognize and install a mass storage device driver automatically like Windows XP does. You'll need the driver CD for the card reader to install the driver.

If that's not the problem, then tell us more about your memory card. Is it bigger than 2 GB? If it is bigger than 2 GB, then it's SDHC. Check to see if your card reader is compatible with SDHC cards.
