How long does it take to approve images at iStockphoto?Recently, I came across a site called iStockphoto. You can upload stock photographs onto this site. Upon approval, other people can buy your stock photographs. However, the purchased rights to the image is royalty-free. Commission is only 10%, which is far below traditional market rate. Anyway, I thought it would be interesting to upload a few stock-quality photos and see how well they do in the mass royalty-free market. I uploaded nine pictures on July 2nd. It's July 8th now and they are still not approved. On July 5th, I started wondering when they would be approved. Then I noticed that iStockphoto shows the number of files waiting for approval. Now this would be a fun experiment. Since July 5th, I have been tracking how many files are in their databases and how many files are waiting for approval on a semi-daily basis. So far, I have these data: July 5th: July 6th: July 8th: How long do you think it'll take them to get to my files?

iStockphoto finally reviewed my images yesterday, the 9th. Four out of nine images were approved. So far, it took one week for them to get to my images. As of this morning the daily stats shows:
