Hitachi Revealed 8GB to 10GB Microdrives at CES

In Las Vegas, January 4, 2005, Hitachi showed a sub 1" hard disk with the capacity of 8 gigabytes to 10 gigabytes. During the official press event, Hitachi mentioned that "Mikey", the code name for the Microdrive, is to be available in mid-2005.

Call me confused.

I was looking around and found this PC World article:
Hitachi Plans Big Boost for Small Drives
The article claimed that the new drive will replace the CompactFlash interface with a ZIF (zero insertion force) connector.

Are they planning on not targetting the photography crowd? Or does the industry expect CF slots to be replaced by ZIF slots?
