Firmware update v2.18 for the Fuji FinePix S3 Pro
Fujifilm has released a new firmware update version.2.18 for the FinePix S3 Pro digital camera, incorporating the following enhancements, depending on the current firmware level: - Upgrading from ver.2.16 Updates for the setting of the sharpness for JPEG images in the PC control mode. - Upgrading from ver.2.12 Improves color accuracy at slow shutter speeds when using Nikon flash units... |
It's great to see that Fuji has released new firmware releases to boost the feature of the FujiFilm FinePix S3 Pro. And looking at my recent post concerning the Fujifilm Japan announce S3 Pro buffer upgrade (see TrackBack below), I have to wonder if digital cameras are moving toward the likeness of personal computers. PC has been blessed (or plagued) by the huge amount of software, hardware, and firmware upgrades. In fact, many patches and upgrades are common everyday processes, such as the automated Windows Update. Will digital cameras reach this level of support? What do you think?

Excerpt: Reading this news release I couldn't help but wonder what kind of internal memory buffer the FujiFilm S3 Pro uses. Does it use standard SIMM like the notebook PC's or just bare chips that has to be soldered to the main board. And I suppose you can already guess where I'm going . . . what does it tak . . .
