Putting a filter thread on the Olympus 1.45x Teleconverter

I have mounted many filter rings to both the front and rear of lenses using a 5 minute epoxy glue. I mix a small quanity of lampblack(from artist store) to get a flat black or semi gloss result. Messy but works

Would using the Olympus B-Macro lens with the 1.45x teleconverter and a "glued on" 58-55mm step-down ring work, and would it provide any advantage in terms of image scale and working distance over using the B-Macro without the teleconverter?

There's a superglue-like adhesive called blacktack. It's black supergulr with a sprayon accelerant. Quite expensive, very strong.

Sometime back I read where someone made a bug viewer by inverting a rubber lens hood on a mini binocular and using a cu lens. This should work on a teleconverter

I didn't know what a "cu lens" is . . . so I checked it up on Google and found that is is short for Close-Up Lens.

I have an Olypmus C-3030 Zoom digital camera. I leave the CLA-1 adapter tube, 43mm to 46mm step-up-ring and a 46mm Tiffen uv filter attached all the time. My Olympus 1.45x teleconverter lens (part# 200540) clips right onto the filter. This filter also has threads, so the newer 14b lens should be able to connect also. I don't see any need to use glue, just put the filter before the teleconverter lens.

Loctite do a low bloom super glue (clear) that I use for many optical repairs. It doesnt cause the white bloom you talk of

Hobby black paint will work.

This can be used as a filler for epoxy to match color.

Black Epoxy Colorant

A combination of fast curing and high humidity will cause blooming with cyanoacrylates.

Jeweller's supplies sell a slow cure super glue for use in mounting stones that doesn't bloom. The epoxy an black powdered pigment is something I've used and has the advantage of very good gap filling.
