first- you need software, you can download from here
http://www.mscustomercare.com/

2- you need to install "Driver", this folder with Driver is inside software.

3- when you install Driver, you will get on your desktop this thing called MY CAMERA.

4- when you need to download pictures to your comp,
you need to connect your camera to USB cable, then click to MY CAMERA,
it will tell how pics you have in camera, click OK,
then you can view pictures.
to save them go File in MY CAMERA and choose.

Hope that will work. Good luck

Linux gphoto works (use digiKam for a nice GUI) but it autodetects the camera as Pixart CN302N/Elta. The driver hung when downloading pictures and also reported 0 pictures.

When I manually changed the driver to "Vivitar Mini Digital Camera" it worked perfectly.
Here are the capabilities reported (notice no delete, but it does allow remote image capture):
--------------- begin ------------
Title: Vivitar Mini Digital Camera
Model: Vivitar Mini Digital Camera
Port: usb:
Path: /

Thumbnails: yes
Capture image: yes
Delete items: no
Upload items: no
Create directories: no
Delete Directories: no

Mars MR97310 camera.
There is 1 photo in it.

You can't download the software, simply call the customer service number found on the Vivitar web site 1-800-592-9541 and they will send you a free replacement CD in two weeks by mail. All claims to download this software are false and many load spyware on your computer in place of the drivers you need to be able to download photos from your new camera.

I got a vivitar camera for Christmas. I have heard bad things about the software that comes with it. I plug the camera in to the computer and save the pictures to my windows. I downloaded Google's Picasa 3.6 and it is amazing. I would suggest using that. And it is free. It will automatically take the pictures on your computer and put them in the program.

Hey. All you guys that are having trouble with this, I'll tell you how.

1: Ok, first, take a few pictures with the camera (of course you need an SD card so you can take more than like 2 pictures)
2: Save the CD, take it out and then put it in your computer. You'll have to wait about 10 minutes for it to load, but trust it. It's awesome to be able to put tons of pictures on facebook/myspace, etc...)
3: After it downloads onto your computer, plug the camera in and turn it on. It will connect to the thing downloaded to your computer.
4: Click the place you want to upload the pictures on (facebook/myspace/your computer, etc...) and login into it.
5: Then drag the pictures you want on there and wait for them to get down loading on to the place.
6: That's it! Login on to the actual internet and see how many comments you'll get when your awesome pictures from Vivitar are on the computer!

Have fun with it! Take my advice, please. It's good advice. I've used it for a while, and I know what I am talking about. Thanks! :)

I don't have a CD drive. It was not listed on the box as equipment that was needed, so I didn't think I was going to need one. I would like to be able to download the image manager. Otherwise there is no way I'm keeping this camera. It's useless without a way of putting the pics on my computer.

Apparently, it is not possible to save photos from the camera onto your computer by using the Vivitar Image Experience Manager that comes with the camera. And unless you have Hotmail or Gmail, you can't e-mail them to yourself using the Vivitar Image Experience Manager, either. A camera that will not allow you to save the photos to your computer is worse than useless.

I just bought this little inexpensive, camera thinking I would use it to document my, online, diary. It is very troublesome, to say the least. Not very good, I have called the support line 5 times the guys were nice, but they never helped me get the darn thing to work! I am returning it! The camera is very cheap and still not worth the package it came in! You get what you pay for the Vivitar 3 in one digital cam is junk!

Ok for all of you who are having problems dont worry read this!! YOU DO NOT NEED THE DISC TO DOWNLOAD PICTURES ON TO YOUR COMPUTER!!!!
1. plug the cord in that came with your camera into your camera and into your computer
2.Turn you camera on
3.A box should come up that looks very similar to the box that comes up when you plug in your flash drive
4. Click the one that says somthing similar to "copy pictures to a folder on to my computer using...." mind says using Microsoft scanner and Camera wizard yours could be different though
5. Then follow the steps for the software you have
5. Mine says to click next but it could be different for you
HOPE THS HELPS

I got a vivitar camera and installed the software, afterwards I was able to upload pictures but now on the second time uploading nothing is happening.I previously had a Kodak easyshare that I had and all I had to do was plug it in and it automatically opened the window to upload pics..anyone know why it isnt doing this?

Sat, 03 Mar 2012 00:53:48 +0300

K. First, check your batteries, to the comment about pic.'s not uploading from cam. If the batteries are dead, you will also lose any images you had on cam., previously. This is my cam./model #: "Vivitar Experience, V69379M". I've been trying unsuccessfully, to make the images "clearer"--be it, pixelation, or what have you--The image of the 3 girls was, h3ck of alot better than mine! I tried using the editting software, from the c.d, where you can "sharpen/down-size/effects/etc.", to no avail. Seems lk. this could be really neat gadget...web-cam, takes vid., pic.'s...BUTTT!! How do you adjust resolution, or how am I not getting my images like those uploaded here? -?Confused?-

2-Kim, it IS uploading, look on screen for icon, says "Vivitar Exp", or something similiar, click on icon, click on "get images".......there's also, a manage images. N-e-way, just look 4-icon.

Actually if you have any OS newer than Windows XP you WILL need the software. Otherwise the computer will not even recognize the camera as a USB Mass Storage which is the only way you can download the pics off the camera without the software disc. I've been going as deep into the OS as Window's 7 allows without remote support access and unless you have the software disc you're screwed

These cameras don't seem to always work with the provided software. In most instances, I've had to dig back through my various versions of the Vivitar Experience disc, and load an older version. The latest cheap camera I bought from them, I had to go through 3 versions of software before I found a version that would recognize the camera. I think the quality control at Vivitar must be horrible. They must have 10 year olds who don't read loading the discs into the camera boxes! Return the camera from where you bought it and buy a better camera.

I agree with The Bergler: it seems that unfortunately Vivitar is no longer the GOOD manufacturer it was. I've received a Vivitar Binocular w/camera photo included (Vivitar 10x25 binocular digital camera) that came with a CD that's supposed (by the label) to include a Mac version of the "Vivitar Experience Image Manager". This was not the case. CD contained ONLY the Windows version! I want to download it from the Vivitar website http://www.vivitar-accessory.com/, and a serial number is required. Neither the binocular, nor the box where it came from has ANY serial number for the product! Vivitar is now a real shame!

I accidentally connected the camera to my computer before installing the software and I was wondering how can I fix it because my camera is not connecting to my computer anymore

Jeff Chen
Thu, 24 Dec 2020 19:45:28 -0800

Jeff,

Windows probably installed a substitute driver for the camera. You can see it in "Device Manager". After starting "Device Manager", plug in your camera to see what driver pops up. Uninstall that driver, then unplug the camera. Now you can install the software and proceed.

Hello,
my son got the camera for christmas.
I am a mac user having troubles to install the software from the CD...
it starts all right, but then there is an error message saying that it is only compatible with mac OS 10.something or higher. I use OS 12.something. its frustrating.
any mac users out there that can help.
thanks, E.
